It took a while, but the warm fuzzy feeling I usually get from saying “President-Elect Barack Obama” has been getting less potent every day.
That’s OK, though. No doubt, the phrase “President Barack Obama” will bring about a whole new round of warmth and fuzziness. As will “Former President George W. Bush”.
As a side note, is it just me, or is the phrase “President-Elect Barack Obama” really prevalent among news anchors? I hear his full name used like that all the time on CNN, etc. I don’t recall hearing “President-Elect George W. Bush” all that much (admittedly, his transition period was about a month shorter…).
Maybe other people like saying it just as much as I do?
“President-Elect Barack Obama.”
Mmmm, that feels good. Like getting into a bed whose sheets are fresh out of the dryer. Awwww yeah.
